There are things you can control in life and things you can’t.  Master that and you have serenity.

I was able to beat alcoholism many years ago.  It didn’t kill me.  In fact it made me stronger.  But in addition to a propensity to drink, cancer genes run in our family.  I’ve lost six relatives to that disease. We are advised to get colonoscopies once every three years.  

Doing that is smart: early detection means you’re more likely to live, AND it won’t cost as much to treat. But I have no health insurance because I started my own business two years ago and I need to put the money back into it as an investment.  A colonoscopy would cost me close to $2800, which is beyond my current means.  And I have bad credit. Fast cash is hard to come by in my business, too.

Larry Jr. was the object of much pleasure for me, but also occasionally the object of scorn by some of my lady friends. He is not my son, but my little friend between my legs.
